this friday-sunday, me and a bunch of people from my young adults went to murphy's point for some good ol' camping trip. i know the concept of Sid roughing it is hard to imagine... but it can be done! lolz. on the way there, we followed our young adults pastor who has a lead foot on the gas pedal. at one point, we got separated by the train and he had to wait for us. it was nice to go to a camping trip with no set agenda... just a bunch of people hanging out and having fun.

it was amazing just to get to hang out with people that i don't normally hang out with (ie immigrants!) we had our "Canadian adventure" for the first time and it was full of laughs and more laughs. let me explain. we were all sitting around a campfire and some people left. i thought they were just going to pee and stuff but they took a very long time coming back. so me and ibk decided to go to the beach at around 12 a.m. and we told them about it. apparently, they went on some trails and stuff. eventually they met up with us. so there were 6 of us, 2 black people, me, and 3 white people. the three white people (one girl and 2 boys) were having their own love triangle and left us. so the three of us were sitting there and the realization set in... the crackers left the immigrants all alone. oh the burst of laughing that came after that was said was so funny. so they eventually came back and then ditched us again. this time, i got really pissed and said "damn those crackers". further laughter ensued. so the three of us just sat there, exchanging stories, scaring ourselves silly because we're hearing swishing noises from the lake (we think itz a croc... or a nymph... but more croc). went back to the campsite and then was talking about how we don't understand white people and their whole trails and the whole enjoyment of camping thing. "we escaped the bush, went to Canada, so that we can go back to the bush" i love you faith! lolz. so we decided that we're just gonna walk and have our own "Canadian adventure" lolz.

on the way back home, saw my first oncoming truck as i was overtaking in a one way road. there was a convoy of 3 cars and the first car decided to overtake and so we basically all had to follow. now the 2 were back in their lanes but i wasn't. then i saw the truck that was coming... and sabs said we have to go a lil bit faster, and i completely agreed. so there's me pressing the gas and merging back to the right lane. later, we got lost so we had to go to the side of the road and the driver of the car in front of us checked my car thinking that i got scratched. one of them later asked if i almost peed my pants and the funny thing was we were all so calm and taking things relaxedly in my car as we saw the truck. and part of me, all right, to be honest, every part of me, was insulted by that question... just because i don't know where i'm going (coz i'm really super bad with directions) DOES NOT MEAN i can't drive.

all in all though it was lotsa fun and was definitely refreshing... itz nice to get away from the concrete jungle once in a while and everything that's cell phone related. although i was upset that i didn't get a signal while everybody else got it! but i did like that very fact so i can't use my cell fon.

and scene...
