i definitely had the time of my life this past week as i went on a long-awaited trip away from here. went to moncton, halifax, sydney, and sherbrooke. there were obstacles along the way and at one point wasn't even sure if the trip was gonna happen, but it did and i'm very glad it did.
i went to moncton to go visit one of mah boïz there. he was a part of the small group that i led this january. that's how we ended up getting to know each other. he was in ottawa for a co-op term. since he was in moncton, i decided to go over there and visit him. we got to moncton and i thought it was weird coz everything was closed. it was 8 pm!!! so i decided to give him a call and he picked us up from the bus station and from there we decided to go find a place to eat. Final destination: Jungle Jim's Eatery. Definitely not a place you find in O-town. We didn't have a spot reserved at the hostel and they told us to call back at 10 p.m. and we later found out that we didn't have a spot. Thankfully, André offered us a place at his apartment so we slept there. The next day, we had to wake up early because he was going to work so we went with him to his work and from there did a lil exploration of Moncton. We went to Wacky Wheatley's where I learned that if i ever bought an lcd or plasma big screen tv, I should probly buy a Monster power bar. You learn something new every day! Afterwards, we went to the mall and basically just did that for the whole day since we had nothing better to do. We decided to leave the mall and hit up Chapters. On the way there, one guy honked at us and gave us the middle finger. I never felt so Asian in my whole entire life. We got a ride back at around 4:30 after work back to his place and stayed there for awhile until about 8 or 9 p.m when we went to East Side Mario's for pizza. I ended up ordering a Chicken Fajita pizza and i didn't want 2 of the toppings that went with it so the waitress told me that I can add 2 extra toppings but not meat toppings. So, the next question was: Is pepperoni a meat? I knew the answer to the question I but decided to ask it anyway. She said yes. Wei and André were just dumbfounded that I would ask such a stupid question. lolz. We drove back to the apartment. Every time I was in the car with André driving, I felt like i was in The Fast and the Furious movie. He's one crazy fast driver!!! Safe, but definitely very fast. Got back and played Tekken 4. 105 fights later we stopped. He won a lot of them too! Ggggrrrr!!!!
Halifax was the next stop on the trip. Found a hostel and decided to explore the city a lil bit. I feel like I have walked every street in downtown Halifax. lolz. Lotsa walking. Lotsa fun too. Lotsa things to do and places to see. Halifax is my kind of city. I HEART HALIFAX!!!
Next stop was Sydney. I went there to go see my friend. I saw him and we had fun seeing each other and just do basic catching up. That was fun. Sydney was not.
Sherbrooke proved to be a better stop than Sydney. Got to eat at a Japanese restaurant and even went to go watch a movie, L'honneur du dragon, by Tony Jaa. It was so tian!!! Got to meet up with Mireille and went and had poutine in Québec.
All in all, it was amazing!!! Although, I must admit, I'm not gonna go bussing again. Next time I travel, it'll be the proper way: flying and in hotels! I wasn't meant for rugged adventure! lolz. What can I say, I'm an Azn pretty boy and I have to admit and accept that! hahaha
